Occupy The Kingdom

“...Occupy till I come”.

Luke 19:13 KJV

By Irene Madding

So one might think how does one occupy a kingdom, if you’ve not been born of royal birth. That being the case occupying a kingdom does not apply to me. However, this is not true.

We are all created by God who has given us a birthright through Him to be a king and a priest in a kingdom, His Kingdom.

You are born of royalty and how you live as royalty depends on what you understand concerning your royal rights as a child of the King. One’s royal birthright and how they learn to live in their birthright will create a difference in one’s life and how it affect others.

The word “occupy” is the Greek word pragmateuomai meaning to busy oneself with or engage in trade. Having to do with personal productivity and faithfulness.

A better way to describe the word occupy, would be to occupy oneself with and engage in the Kingdom of God’s business.

So you ask, what is the Kingdom of God and where is it located? I am glad you asked that question. The answer is this, The Kingdom of God is the rule of the Eternal, Sovereign God over all the universe.

Many passages of Scripture show that God is the undeniable Creator of all creation: here are just a few passages you can read.

“The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His Kingdom rules over all” (Psalms 103:19), Isaiah 40:28; Psalms 45: 6.

If you are a born-again child of God (meaning you have received Christ His son as your Savior and believe in His death, burial and resurrection), you have now spiritually connected with the Kingdom of God because of your salvation (John 3:5).

Jesus has told us that “the Kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21). Meaning It resides within every part of your inner being.

Just think about it even your breath which He breathed into you.

The Kingdom of God is such a part of your very DNA and mitochondria described as the power generators of the cells,

converting oxygen and nutrients in your body.

How Awesome is that!

Yet, because of their fear of the unknown or what others might think. Many never come to know or live out these truths. Yet the invitation is always open to come be a part of His Kingdom. So why not accept His invitation today? What do you have to lose fear? You might gain that better life you’ve been searching for.

You and I, as God’s creation are to be expressions of who he is. Showing forth His glory and Kingdom in the earth. Everything we say or do everywhere we go and whatever we touch should fill and charge us with excitement of our King and His Kingdom.

Our goal should be to make our world a better place by being touched by the presence of our King and His Kingdom residing within us.

His glory in us should shine forth from every fiber of our being, because of who we are. The seat of your heart, mind, will and emotions. Your passions, appetite, and desires.

Your very nature, personality and temperament should always speak of your King and His Kingdom which you represent.

May we learn to become continual demonstrations and representations of God’s Kingdom to this world.

In Luke 10:9 Jesus said, “the Kingdom of God would be manifested” Meaning we will manifest the Kingdom of God and evidence His truths by demonstrating them in the natural realm.

He manifested the Kingdom of God many times throughout His ministry while here on the earth through signs, wonders, miracles, healings and deliverance.

Jesus Christ is our model example, and as Believers in Him we should follow in His footsteps by continuing His work while here on earth.

Jesus said, in Mark 16:16-18 that signs and wonders would follow those who believe.

Are you a Believer? Then that means you.
